Infection Prevention and Control

The course explores the chain of infection, standard and transmission-based precautions, environmental hygiene, and effective waste management. Learners will gain an understanding of hand hygiene practices, personal protective equipment (PPE), and sterilization techniques. It emphasizes evidence-based infection control measures and national/international guidelines. Special focus is placed on preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and managing outbreaks. Students will also learn how to educate patients, families, and staff on safe infection control practices. This qualification helps enhance patient safety and improve healthcare quality standards.

The course will commence in the first week of November.
